Josie Kathrine Patterson, was born November 2, 1896 in Lutts, Tennessee to Nancy
and John Patterson and passed away January 30, 1996 in the Sayre Memorial
hospital at the age of 99 years, 2 months and 28 days.
She moved with her parents to Orr, Indian Territory in 1898. They later
moved to the Grimes community in 1902 where she attended Emerson School.
She married Clifford M. Daugherty on December 1, 1919 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. They
moved to the Dempsey community in 1931 and to Sayre in 1987 to make their
home.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, four sisters and two
brothers.
She is survived by two daughters, Lela Cooprider of Cheyenne and Geneva
Fuchs of Sayre, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; eleven great great
grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 1996 at the Rose Chapel
officiated by Kevin Ballard.
Interment was in the Dempsey Cemetery, Roger
Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral service.
