Earl Woodrow Daugherty, was born November 7, 1912 near Grimes, Oklahoma to Maud Etta and George M. Daugherty and passed away January 26, 1997 in the Sayre Memorial Hospital at the age of 84 years, 2 months and 19 days.
Earl grew up in the Grimes area and attended school at Emerson. He worked in the CC camp for six months before returning home to farm.
He married Bessie Henson on March 13, 1937 in Cheyenne and they made their home in the Dempsey area where he farmed until his retirement in 1974.
He was a member of Cheyenne Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister and one granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie of the home; two sons, Donald Daughterty of Topeka, Kansas; and Terry Daugherty of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; one daughter, Sheryl Naeve of Clinton, Oklahoma; two sisters, Beulah Isch of Clinton, Oklahoma; and Bertha Ellis of Hobart, Oklahoma; one brother, Raymond Daugherty of Hooker, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Alan Daugherty of Topeka, Kansas; Sandra Daugherty Shea of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; Jack Rouse of Weatherford, Oklahoma; Tami Timm of Chandler, Indiana; Brandi Daugherty of Cheyenne, Oklahoma as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 1997 at the Cheyenne Church of Christ officiated by Willard Cox.
Interment will be in the Dempsey Cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
