William “David” Jackson was born in Elk City, Oklahoma on Friday, November the 13th, 1964 to D.L. and Mary Lou Jackson. He passed on August 6th, 2026 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 61 years and 9 months.

David spent his entire life in Western Oklahoma following the family’s move back to the family farm southwest of Reydon in 1974. David graduated from Reydon High School in 1984. During high school and following graduation, David worked for H.J., Phillip and David Wright on their family farm. This work transitioned to working for Phillip on and off for over two decades moving houses throughout the Texas Panhandle and Western Oklahoma. He also spent many years working for T & O Oilfield Service where he established lifelong friendships with Sue Trout and her brother Mike Owen. He also worked at Sunrise Feed in Cheyenne for numerous years and for his younger brother Brett as a truck driver and mechanic.

David loved big and always wanted to help others. He was someone who would always ask how you were and if you needed anything. As a family friend said “you would have to look long and hard to find anyone more kind than David.” With this kindness came a great stubbornness. As anyone who knew him could attest, he would do anything you asked him to do and rarely anything you told him to do! In his spare time, David loved to ride motorcycles and spend time with his dogs. He also enjoyed spending time with his neighbors and friends, often fixing food on the grill for everyone to enjoy.

David is survived by his parents D.L. and Mary Lou Jackson of Cheyenne, OK; brother Brett Jackson and his wife Taryn of Cheyenne, OK; sister Donna Wright and her husband Jim of Cheyenne, OK; sister Melanie Hill and her husband Mike of Edmond, OK; 7 nieces and nephews Wiley Wright and wife Cassie, Nathan Jackson and fiancee Abby, Owen Jackson and wife Taylor, Emily Wright, Jackson Hill, Natalie Hill, and Jesse Wright; two great nieces Harper Jones, daughter of Wiley and Cassie and Hazel Jackson, daughter of Owen and Taylor; numerous cousins; and a host of friends.

The family ask that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Western Oklahoma Animal Rescue (W.A.R.), P.O. Box 2197, Elk City, OK 73648.
