Elmer Paul Dye, 68, of Cheyenne was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma on July 3, 1915 to Jim Elmore and Bessie Dye. He passed from this life Tuesday, June 5, 1984 in the Roger Mills Memorial Hospital of Cheyenne.
He was married in May 1936 to Helen Aline Gardner of Ardmore, Oklahoma who preceded him in death.
On March 24, 1951 in Clovis, New Mexico he and Eva Serena Townsend were united in marriage. In 1958 they moved to Cheyenne from Tatum, New Mexico. Paul took great pride in his boot making and shoe repair trade.
Those who preceded Mr. Dye in death were his parents, first wife and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Evas of the home; two daughters: Pauline Wimberly of Joshua Tree, California, Patsy Dickason of Cheyenne; 2 sons, Don Dye of Cheyenne, Steve Dye of Mobile, Alabama; 8 grandchildren, 4 great granddaughters; 1 sister Ehtel Howell of Newport, Arkansas; 1 brother Ray Dye of Duncan, OK; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, June 7, 1984 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Cheyenne with Aubrey Cowan and Ed Sifford of Hollis, OK. officiating.
Interment followed in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Joe Bradley, Eddie Holland, Gerald Brown, Leroy
Roberson, Charles Hickey and Buster Miller.
