John C. Casady, editor and publisher of the Cheyenne Star since 1911, died Tuesday, July 13, 1965.

Born in Mexia, Texas, May 22, 1884, Casady moved to Cheyenne with his parents in 1892.

In 1911 he purchased the newspaper.

He was active in politics, religion, education, civic and fraternal affairs.

He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Future Farmers of America, The Oklahoma Press Addociation, IOOF and the Methodist church.

From 1927-1928, Casady was Grand Master of Oklahoma IOOF, Director of the Tri-State Senior Golf Association of Amarillo and held the Colonel Bogie title in golf.

Casady is survived by his wife, Klina; a son, David; and a sister, Mollie Herring, all of Cheyenne.

Interment in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
