Mrs. Roberta "Robbie" Ann Stephens Calvert was born in Covington, Kentucky and died December 2, 1962 at 10:00 a.m. at the age of 93 years, 2 months and 29 days.
She was the daughter of Robert and Sarah Stephens, also of Kentucky.
She was united in marriage to Memory J. Calvert December 18, 1883 in Mobeetie, Texas.
The Calverts moved to Roger Mills county in 1894 and have lived here since that date.
To this union were born six children, two daughters and four sons, Mrs. Lee Waldrip of McAlester, Oklahoma; Mrs. Roy Sprowls of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; R. M. Calvert of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; R. F. Calvert of Hereford, Texas; and Frank and Eldridge Calvert, both of Cheyenne, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Calvert has been a very devoted member of the Methodist church since early childhood and at her death was the oldest member of the Methodist Church here in Cheyenne.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Other survivors include eighteen grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
God has taken to rest another great pioneer woman. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a neighbor to all with whom she came in contact.
She leaves a host of friends and other relatives to mourn her passing from our midst.
Pall bearers were her grandsons, Louis, Charlie and Memory Sprowls, Randall, Derwood, Jimmie and Merril Dean Calvert and Floyd Waldrip.
Interment was in the Cheyenne cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the of the Scroggins Funeral Home.
