John Buckner Nethery was born at Clarksville, Virginia on September 28, 1856 and died at Hereford, Texas, December 27, 1930 at the age of 74 years.
He was converted and joined the Methodist church at Easter, Virginia at the age of 50 years.
He was married to Miss Mary Ann Breeding at Alamo, Tennessee, June 12, 1884. To this union were born nine children.
Six are still living, Mrs. May Godfrey of Sayre; John B. Nethery of Hereford, Texas; Mrs. Ella Thompson of Sayre; Mrs. Jessie Vernon of Sayre; Mrs. Pearl Murphy of Oklahoma City; and Daniel Nethery of Hereford.
He was buried at Brookside cemetery with Rev. Coffey officiating and Littrell-Moore in charge.
