Rex Sadler was born November 8, 1932 in Durham, Oklahoma, one of thirteen children, to Ethel Mae and Daniel Murry Sadler. He passed away January 15, 2007 at Cheyenne, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years, 2 months and 7 days.
Rex grew up in the Durham community and attended school at Crawford.
He worked in western Oklahoma for a short time before going to Colorado to work as a rancher.
When Rex returned he was married to Sylvia Marie Blair on July 3, 1952. From this union there were three children Joe, Mary and Terry.
On June 21, 1982 Rex lost his youngest son, Terry Lee "Peewee" Sadler. After the loss of his son he spent several years in the Ardmore area and returned to western Oklahoma in 2005.
He spent his remaining years ranching and working with horses and enjoying his family and many friends.
Rex enjoyed having fun, pulling pranks, tending and training horses.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Terry Lee Sadler; four brothers, Merrell, Kenneth, Wayne and Gerald Sadler; and three sisters, Helen Cockrell, Dorothy Reynolds and Virginia McGlothlin.
He is survived by his son, Joe Sadler and wife Cindy of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; daughter, Mary Felts of Ardmore, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Shawn Felts, Justin Felts, Cindy Lee, Maranda Beason and Michael Sadler; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Zelma Widner of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and Thelma Baker of Crawford, Oklahoma; brothers, Claude Sadler of Reydon, Oklahoma; Dan Sadler of Elk City, Oklahoma; and Eugene Sadler of Amarillo, Texas; former wife, Sylvia Sadler of Ardmore, Oklahoma; many nieces and nephews who loved him very much and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held Friday, January 19, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Cheyenne School auditorium officiated by Andy Taylor and Buddy Suthers.
Burial was held at Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
Music selections "Precious Memories" and "Go Rest High On That Mountain", Soloist, Patty Wright.
Honorary casket bearers were Dink Rose, Glen Cockrell, Jerry Mathews, Jerry Starr, Pete Carlile and Thoral Shaw.
Casket bearers were Jerry Cockrell, Jim Hughes, Justin Felts, Mike Sadler, Shawn Felts and Tim Cockrell.
