Mr. John J. Puryear died Nov 17, 1901 at his home near here of blood poison, from a scratch on a barbwire on the left hand.
Mr. Puryear was a highly respected citizen in this community.
He had a good place and was very comfortably fixed, was a good father and husband and will be missed sadly by his family and his neighbors.
We were not able to learn his age and birth place, but had been on the frontier most of his life.
Burial in Berlin cemetery, Berlin.
