- - William Newton Porch Dead - -
Sorrow was cast over our community again when it was learned that W. N. Porch had passed away on Sunday, December 28, 1925 at 8:20 a.m., at his home four miles west and one south of Berlin.
Mr. Porch and family came to the country in the early days and had a wide acquaintance.
He had been in poor health for several months taking worse about December 14, 1925, from which time he was not up again.
Funeral services were held at the Christian Church at Berlin on Monday, at 2 o'clock p.m. and was conducted by Mr. Ed Isom. He read the 14th Chapter of St. John and said many things to help the bereaved wife and daughter in this great trial, for a place in their home is vacant which never can be filled.
A good man has gone from us, one whom we all loved and respected.
His body was laid to rest in Berlin Cemetery.
He leaves a wife and one daughter, Mrs. Artie Grimes.
