Kay grew up in the Sweetwater community where she graduated from high school in
1967. She was married to Clifford H Macklin on September 11, 1967 and they lived
at Ft. Hood, Texas. After Clifford's discharge they moved to Winfield, Kansas
and then returned to Oklahoma in 1969. Kay went back to school and received her
Masters in Education and was a reading specialist. They lived in Hinton,
Oklahoma where they both taught before moving to Erick in January of 1978. They
opened, owned and operated the C&K Quick Stop. Clifford and Kay taught school as
they continued to farm and ranch.
She was an active member of the Erick First Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
She is survived by her two children, Sheila Butler and husband, Link, Elk City,
OK, Sean Macklin and wife, Tiffany, Byers, TX; 16 grandchildren, Shawnda,
Shelby, Chance, Shayne, Shylar, Hope, Clint, Bailey, Carrie, Hayley, Ryanne,
Peyton, Emilee, Carson, Hayden, William, 3 great grandchildren, Diquan, Sawyer,
Masynn, 3 sisters, Orvilla Schantz and husband, Stanley, Weatherford, OK, Dianna
Mosburg and husband John, Sayre, OK, Brenda Tate and husband, Eddie,
Weatherford, OK, 2 brothers, Butch Hagerman and wife, Joan, Sweetwater, OK,
Clifford Hagerman and wife, Pam, Canute, OK and a host of other relatives and
friends.
Services will be held at the Erick First Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 3,
2018 at 2:00 PM. The visitation will be at Whinery Funeral Service on Monday and
Tuesday and Wednesday morning at the church. Burial will be in the Berlin
Cemetery under the direction of Whinery Funeral Service, Elk City.
