Rheba Dee Green Burkhalter, a resident of Cheyenne was born April 25, 1910 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Birdie Dee and Robert Whitfield Green. She passed away February 9, 2002 in Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years 9 months and 14 days.
She was married to Calvin Howard Burkhalter at Sayre, Oklahoma on September 28, 1933.
They lived in Sayre before moving to Los Angeles, California in 1942. In December of 1990 she moved to Cheyenne, Oklahoma where she lived in the home she always had dreamed about since 1926.
She attended the Cheyenne First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Cleta Faye Bateman; one brother, Bob Green; and two sisters, Geneva Holmes Walker and Margie Blackburn.
Donations can be made to the Cheyenne First Baptist Church Mission Fund.
Services were held Saturday, February 16, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cheyenne First Baptist Church, officiated by Chaplain Lloyd Rinks.
Burial was at the Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service, Cheyenne.
Survivors include two daughters, Frank Rinks and husband, Lloyd of Santa Ana, California; and Terry Roman and husband, Mike of Paso Robles, California; two sisters, Cuba Coates of Seminole, Oklahoma; and Lewta Faye Wiggins of Morgan, Texas; four brothers, Rheuben Green of Rush Springs, Oklahoma; Roy Green of Fort Mill, South Carolina; Raymond Green of Jackson, California; and Don Green of Seminole, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, John Rinks of Cypress, California; Tom Rinks of Grand Rapids, Michigan; Linda Menigoz of Atascadero, California; and David Bateman of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; ten great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
