Clemmie Ellen Lucas was born on September 11, 1925 to Tom McKinney and Bessie Irene (Kitchens) Small.
She was born near Idabel, Oklahoma. Ellen went to meet her Lord and Savior on May 11, 2020 in Antlers, Oklahoma.
Ellen married Ross Lucas on November 18, 1945. They had 4 children: Lonnie, Robert, Irene, and Dennis. They lived in California for many years where they worked in Citrus packing plants. They then returned to Oklahoma in August 1975. Ellen was a member of the Moyers Baptist Church. She spent her time volunteering for the Women's Center, where she worked with abused women. She had also volunteered for the veteran's hospital since 1985. Ellen is a lifetime member of the VFW serving since 1983. Ellen spent her spare time fishing, traveling, making arts and crafts, playing board games and cards. She had a great friend "Betty" that was her fishing partner for many years. She also enjoyed spending time teaching her great great-grandchildren how to fish, play board games, and cards.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents: Tom and Bessie Small; 4 brothers; her husband: Ross Lucas; 3 of her children: Lonnie Lucas, Irene Lucas, and Dennis Lucas; and granddaughter: Kristen Brooks.
She is survived by her son: James Robert Lucas; grandchildren: Robert Lee Lucas, Beth Lucas, Mashell Burton, Amanda Lucas, Jason Lucas, Donna Lucas, Kimberly Owens, and Josh Lucas; 25 great-grandchildren and 20 great great-grandchildren.
Ellen's family would like to say a special thanks to her provider, Colleen Shepherd, who has done an exceptional job of assisting her for many years. Also to her health team Crystal Crabb McMikel, Renee Bevill, Kristin Leffel, Chelsea Golden, David Kautt, and Tasha Bryant.
Services for Ellen Lucas will be held Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 11AM in the Serenity Funeral Service Chapel and will be streamed on Facebook Live.
Interment will follow at Rocky Point Cemetery in Moyers, Oklahoma. Services entrusted to Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers, Oklahoma.
