Funeral services for Fletcher Delane Hulsey will be held on Friday, October 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Bryant officiating and burial following in the Rattan Cemetery.

Fletcher Delane Hulsey, age 44, of Porum, OK formerly of Hugo, OK ,died on Friday October 2, 2009 in Tulsa, OK. Fletcher was born November 8, 1964 in Hugo, Oklahoma, the son of Willis and Nellie (Potts) Hulsey.

He had lived in the Hugo area most of his life. He married Laurie Smith at Robbers Cave two months ago. Fletcher had worked as a firefighter, EMT for 17 years and was an EMT Instructor. He also did concrete work for Ed Bates and Paul Howser in construction and also worked at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral home. Fletcher began his career as a volunteer fireman in Rattan, OK. He became a First Responder and went on to get his EMT-B.

He then moved and began working at Wewoka Fire/EMS. While at Wewoka he got his EMT-Intermediate. He also got his Fire Fighters I & II. Fletcher continued to grow in his knowledge and became an instructor in several areas. He then moved back to the Hugo area where he worked for a number of years at the Hugo Fire Department as an EMT and a firefighter. Fletcher then went to work for Southwest EMS and eventually moved to Eufaula and began employment with the Okmulgee County EMS where he worked until his death. Fletcher continually strived to share his knowledge and teach those around him. He dedicated his life to serving his community. Fletcher was a loving father, caring husband and was a caring and giving person. He loved his family and friends and was always willing to do for others, without the thought of getting anything in return. He worked tirelessly to help those in need.

He was preceded in death by his infant daughter: Brandy Hulsey; his father: Willis Hulsey; his step-son: Cody Record.

Fletcher is survived by his wife: Laurie Hulsey of the home; son: Fletcher Hulsey Jr. of Antlers, OK; two daughters, Christina Hulsey and husband, Brant Dees of Rich Hill, MO and Cortney Hulsey of Antlers, OK; his mother: Nellie Hulsey of Hugo, OK; one brother Benny Hulsey and his wife Tonya of Idabel, OK; two sisters: Susan Heft of Sawyer, OK and Delana Shannon of Hugo, OK; two step-sons: Gavin Record and Cage Record; sister-in-law: Chandra Buss and her husband, David; three grandchildren; his partner at work; Mike Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, October 8, 2009 from 6-7 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel. Family and friends are invited to sign the guest book or send private condolences to the family at www.praterlampton.com.
