Sherri passed away at her
home, Saturday, April 30, 2016, in Spencerville, Oklahoma, at
the age of 68.
Sherri Marsha Deaton was born
October 7, 1947, in Antlers, Oklahoma, to Oliver Goldsmith and
Violet (Thompson) Chapman. She had lived in this area for many
years and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hugo, OK.
She married Wilbur Don Deaton on October 14, 1965, in Rattan,
OK. Sherri worked for the Housing Authority of Choctaw Electric
for over 40 years and took great pride in her job. She loved to
cook, and cooked at Falls Creek Church Camp for many years. She
loved children and was very involved in Girls in Action, 4H Club
and First Baptist Church in Rattan, OK. Sherri thought the world
of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was a loving
wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Sherri took great pride in
being a member of the Red Hat Society, where she was the Queen
of Sisters by Choice Chapter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Otis Chapman, Chuck Chapman and Dennis Chapman
Sherri is survived by husband,
Wilbur Don Deaton of the home; son, Dr. Steven Deaton and wife,
Elizabeth of Rattan, OK; daughter, Kimberly Kirschner, and
husband, Jay, of Arvada, Co; brother, O.G. Chapman, of Antlers,
OK; sister, Annice Alcorn of Antlers, OK; grandchildren, Brittni,
Lindsey, Hayley, Ashlyn, Mackenzi, Trey, Zach and Zeth;
great-grandchildren, Casen and Knute.
