David Lee "Sonny Boy" Baker, 63, passed away September 2nd, 2015
in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born November 24th, 1951 to John and
Bernice (Colombus) Baker in Wright City, Oklahoma.
David graduated from Wright City High School and then joined the
Oklahoma National Guard. David married Doris Jean Washington in
Wright City. He later worked for the pole yard in Idabel,
Oklahoma. He was a member of the Big Lick Methodist Church in
Divide Community. David enjoyed watching old time western
movies, listening to music, listening to Elvis Presley and
watching his movies, along with collecting Elvis memorabilia. He
was very proud of his Choctaw heritage.
David was preceded in death by his wife: Doris Jean Baker;
parents; daughter: Emma Marissa Baker.
He is survived by his children: Tammy Sue Baker of Broken Bow,
Oklahoma, Timothy "Moshe" Baker of Antlers, and Chadwick Shane
Baker of Broken Bow; brothers: Ernie Baker of Antlers, Arnold
Baker of Sobol, Oklahoma; sisters: Paula Ann Griffith of
Valliant, Oklahoma, Karen Sue Coffman of Broken Bow, Laura
Gibson of Idabel and Lorena Vaunico of Idabel; grandchildren:
Casey Lane Baker, Jaques Round Boy Jacob, Cameron Neil Baker;
great grandchildren: Rocky Shane Baker, John David Baker,
Shaeodah Saloan Baker.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday September 4, 2015 at the
First United Methodist Church in Antlers. Burial will be at the
Nashoba Indian Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Baker, Jeremy Willis, Patrick Gibson,
Bear Gibson, Charlie Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Casey
Baker and Jaques Jacob.
