Lifetime resident of Miller, Oklahoma, James L. Pound, passed from this life on August 1, 2020.

He was born on March 13, 1931 in Miller to Oscar Newman Pound and Anne Holder Pound. James was 89 years old. After retiring from the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority in 1989, he spent his days doing what he truly loved, tending his ranch and his brangus cattle. James also enjoyed watching all the wildlife out on his land. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is preceded in death by his wife: Clara Sue Pound; parents: Oscar and Anne Pound; and brothers: Oscar Lou Pound, Lee Edward Pound, and LD Pound.

James is survived by his son: Jimmy L. Pound and wife Lucille of Miller, Oklahoma; and grandchildren: Levi Robbins and wife Megan of Lenapah, Oklahoma, and Krey Long and husband Derrick of Albion, Oklahoma; as well as several great grandchildren and a host of friends and family members.

Graveside services for James Pound will be held 10 AM Tuesday August 4, 2020 at Miller Cemetery at Miller Community. Services are entrusted with Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers, Oklahoma.
