Funeral services for James Arvell Cranford of Sherman, Texas, were held Tuesday, October 2, 1990 at 2:00 pm in the Mills and Coffey Chapel. Interment followed at the Finley Cemetery.


James Cranford was born in Steedman on February 2, 1913 and died September 29, 1990 at Sherman, Texas. He was a mechanic and served with the Baptist Church for over 40 years.


Surviving relatives include his wife Gladys of the home. Three daughters, Loy Mae Beech of Irving, Texas; Patricia Kay Williams, Sherman, Texas and Shary Quay Mertins of Whitesboro, Texas. Two sisters, Audrey Hall of Ponca City and Dorothy Harris of Antlers. Two brothers, Dueward Cranford of Plymouth, California and Charles Cranford of Elmore City. Also three grand-daughters, three grandsons and six great grandsons.


Pallbearers were Harold Harris, ‘Curley’ Nabors, ‘Frog’ Nabors, Ted Powell, Golly Heath and Elton Balmain.


Ceremonies were officiated by Rev. Orval Lee and Jeff Reid; and arrangements made by Mills and Coffey Funeral Services of Antlers.
