GATES WILLIAM CARLISLE SR. (1879-1957)
GATES WILLIAM CARLISLE SR. was born on August 14, 1879 in Roxton, Texas, the son of William H. and Bettie B. Carlisle. In May, 1909, in Antlers, OK, he married Malona Jane Johnson, daughter of Wiley Elijah and Virginia Lee 'Smith' Johnson. Gates died on October 1, 1957 and is buried in the Finley Cemetery, Finley, Pushmataha County, Oklahoma.

MALONA JANE 'JOHNSON' CARLISLE (1891-1977)
MALONA JANE JOHNSON was born on October 30, 1891, in Garretts Bluff, Texas, the daughter of Wiley Elijah and Virginia Lee "Smith" Johnson. Around 1900 she moved with her family to Antlers, Indian Territory (OK). In May, 1909, in Antlers, OK, she married Gates William Carlisle. They had seven children; Johnson William; Mauvereen Gates; Katherine Elizabeth; Adred Malone; Gates William Jr; Bennett; and Etta Mae, died in early childhood. Malona Jane "Johnson" Carlisle died on April 6, 1977. She is buried in the Finley Cemetery, Finley, Pushmataha County, Oklahoma.
