William James “ W. J.” Baggett, Jr. was born December 11, 1912
in Tuskahoma, Oklahoma to William James and Minnie S. (Wilmoth)
Baggett. He passed from this life December 7, 2010 in Antlers,
Oklahoma, at the age of 97.
W. J. had lived in this area for 65 years. He was a devoted
member of the Methodist church and the Masonic Lodge. W. J. was
a proud Choctaw and he enjoyed gardening, raising chickens,
fishing, camping & spending time at the coffee shop as well as
time with his family and friends.
W. J. was preceded in death by his wife: Reba Holt Baggett; son:
Bob Dawkins; grandsons: Jay Jackson & Grady Dawkins; parents:
William & Minnie Baggett; brothers: Wallace Baggett, Victor
Baggett, & Selwin Baggett.
He is survived by his children: Mike Baggett & wife Linda of
Antlers, and Jane Alexander & husband Les of Antlers;
grandchildren: Amy Barnett & husband Shawn, Trina Jackson,
Monica Trammell & husband John, Jason Baggett & wife Sharmonea,
Jamie Martin & husband Joey, Gary Dawkins, Susan Dawkins, and
Diane Seymore & husband Gary; brother: Stokes Baggett of
Oklahoma City; sister: Dartha Liddy & husband Pat of Austin,
Texas; fourteen great-grandchildren; as well as many other
relatives and friends.
Funeral Services: 1:00 PM ~ Friday, December 10, 2010 ~ First
United Methodist Church
Officiating: Reverend Robert Duran ~ Brent Franks
