Funeral services
for Jerry Don Brents will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017, at 2:00
p.m. at the Antlers Church of the Nazarene in Antlers, OK with Pastor
Phillip Savage officiating; burial will follow at the Darwin Cemetery in
Darwin, OK. Don passed away October 15, 2017, at the age of 76.
Don was born
January 24, 1941, in Clayton, OK to Roland & Thelma (Hendrix) Brents and
lived in the Antlers area all his life. He married Priscilla Williams on
March 4, 1961 in the Nazarene Church in Antlers, and they had been
married for 56 years. Don began working for the Department of
Transportation as a night watchman on May 1, 1977. In 1982, he obtained
his FCC license, and continued to work there as a Communication
Specialist until his retirement on May 31, 2005. Don enjoyed deer and
turkey hunting, fishing, camping, working on the farm, raising a garden,
and riding four-wheelers with his dog, Zoey.
He was preceded in death by
his parents; his brother, Joe Brents; and his grandparents, Jess & Edith
Hendrix & R.M. & Suda Brents.
Don is survived by
his wife, Priscilla, of the home; one son, Jeff Brents of Durant; one
daughter, Sheila Brents of Antlers; one grandson, Justin Musick.
Family will receive
friends Thursday, October 19, 2017, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at
the Antlers Church of the Nazarene in Antlers, OK; visitation will also
be held from 11:00-1:00 before the service begins on Friday.
