Funeral services for Florence Althea (Morrow) Stanley, a
longtime Coalgate resident, will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at
2:00 p.m. at the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Coalgate with Rev. Delbert
White officiating.
Burial will be in Antlers Cemetery with arrangements under the direction
of Brown's Funeral Service of Coalgate.
Mrs. Stanley was born May 4, 1920 in Savanna, OK to Oscar Lee
and Martha Elizabeth (Nooner) Morrow and passed away November 12, 2010
in Coalgate at the age of 90. She attended and graduated from Savanna
Public School. On November 4, 1973, Althea married Eldrus Eugene
Stanley, He preceded her death on March 25, 2005. Althea had worked as a
seamstress at the Army Ammunition Plant, was a housewife and was a
member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Coalgate.
Survivors include a son, Stephen Earl Sloan of Coalgate;
step-children, James Newcomb and wife Ida of Levingsworth, WA, Dillard
Stanley and wife Mattie of Durant, OK, Jerry Stanley and wife Betty of
OKC, Brenda Gwinn and husband Buddy of Coalgate, and Becky Brown and
husband Dewayne of Kiowa, OK; along with numerous grandchildren, great
grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Earl Sloan
and Eldrus Eugene Stanley; sisters, Maggie Leavitt and Myrtle Cole and
brothers, Ermine Morrow, Clarence Morrow, Ralph Morrow, Lawrence Morrow,
Leon Morrow and LeRoy Morrow.
Casketbearers will be Darrell Stanley, George Stanley, Kevin
Stanley, Michael Burns, Brandon Morrison, and Ryan Morrison.
