Juanita Estelline Bates passed away on March 23, 2017 in
Farmersville, Texas. She was 101 years old. She was born in
Wardville, Oklahoma on March 12, 1916 to Fletcher and LoElla
Hamlin.
Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, her husband
Clarence Bates, three sisters Jewell McCarty, Vida Bell, Mittis
Lawson and one brother L.B. Hamlin.
She is survived by her children: daughter LoEtta Reavis and
husband Hooker of Farmersville, Texas, sons Dennis Bates and
wife Vicki of Antlers, Oklahoma, John Bates and wife Kelly of
Antlers, Oklahoma; grandsons Bart Bates, Brian Bates, David
Reavis and wife Alyse, Chris Reavis and wife Amy, Brent Bates
and wife Tarah, Adam Bates Messer, Daniel Bates Messer; sister
Thelma McMahan of Antlers; along with many great grandchildren,
great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Juanita spent most of her life living in the Kellond community.
She attended elementary school at Ethel and Kellond ISD and high
school at Antlers ISD. She married Clarence Bates on September
15, 1934. She was a homemaker and a devoted wife and mother. She
enjoyed a close relationship with all her sisters and brother.
Juanita was a Christian and a member of the Assembly of God
Church for over 65 years. Her life was exemplary of her love for
Christ and his teachings. She will be missed by those that knew
and love her.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday March 25, 2017 at
the Burkhart Funeral Service of Antlers.
