Erdice Dale Amend, 84, of Farris, OK, passed away Thursday, April 14th, 2011 in Tulsa, OK.
Erdice was born in Stanley, OK on June 21, 1926, a son of the late Hazel (Greenwood) and Otis Amend.
He was the husband of Vera J (Burnett) Amend, to whom he married in October 1971 in Antlers, OK.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
He is survived by his Wife Vera Amend of Farris, OK; Mother of his children LaHoma Jo James of Clayton, OK; Daughter Sheron Amend and Bob Braden of Plano, TX; Daughter Jane Amend and Jim Calhoun of Grand Rapids, MI; Daughter Judy Amend Thompson of Poteau, OK; Son William "Bill" Ward Amend of Farris, OK; Son Phillip and Mariann Cannon of Center Point, TX; Daughter Eveleyn and Leon Roberson of Atoka, OK; Son Thomas and June Cannon of Centerhoma, OK; Son Voyd and Dae Cannon of Center Point, TX; Daughter Janetta Blakely Glenhorn of Center Point, TX; Daughter Julie and Pat Starnes of Center Point, TX; Sister Jeanine and Marshall "Casey" Saye of St. Louis, MO. He is also survived by 28 Grandchildren, 45 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great-Grandchild, 2 Nephews and 1 Niece.
Memorial Service were held at First Baptist Church, Clayton, OK, at 2:00pm on Monday, April 18th, with Todd Minshall officiating. Pall Bearers were David R. "Trey" Weichert, James D Calhoun, Jeremy Thompson, Justin Cannon, Roger Cannon, Bodie Cannon, Evan O'Canna, and Jon O'Canna.Interment was at A. L. Stephens Cemetery in Clayton, OK following the services. Arrangements were entrusted to Clayton Funeral Home in Clayton, OK.
