Jerry Frank Cook passed away on Thursday, June 28th, 2018 at the age of 74.
Jerry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Patty; his daughter Lorie Barton; Mother-in-law Etta Harmon; and brother, Jack Cook. He will, also, be fondly remembered by his 2 grandsons, Ryan (Lauren) and Dylan Higginbotham and Great Granddaughter, Stella.
Jerry was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Frank and Erlene Cook. He excelled at playing the trumpet in High School and was in the Oklahoma City University Orchestra.
After High School Jerry enlisted in the United States Air Force and was a Missile Guidance Technician during the Cuban Crisis and Vietnam War and was stationed at Selfridge Air Force Base.
He was Regional Sales Training Manager for Occidental Life Insurance Company in Houston, Texas, Volunteer Chaplain for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections for 10 years and was owner of Western Data & Video Lab in Oklahoma City until he Semi-Retired to the Rio Grande Valley where he continued to service the Winter Texans computers and played in the Rio Grande Valley Concert Band.
Jerry served as member and office of numerous organizations over the past years, including Oklahoma and Texas Good Sams. Jerry and his brother, Jack hosted a yearly benefit for the Alfredo Gonzalez Texas State Veterans Homes Activity Department.
His ashes will be buried at his daughter, Kimberly’s grave in Albion, Oklahoma.
