BOYD CARSON WILLIAMS

February 03, 1930 - July 15, 2018

Boyd Carson Williams, 88, of Wanette passed away unexpectedly at his home on July 15, 2018. Boyd was the fourth of ten children born to William Warren and Ada Elizabeth (Hensley) Williams on February 3, 1930. Boyd developed his strong work ethic from the example set by his parents and siblings. Throughout his childhood and adolescence the Williams family worked side by side in everything from cutting wood to traveling the country picking produce. At the age of 18, Boyd and his family moved to Oklahoma. Boyd graduated from Trousdale High School in 1950.

On June 10, 1950, Boyd married the love of his life Cordelia Louise Whitaker. Shortly after their marriage Boyd went to work for American Iron as a machinist. In 1952, He was drafted into the Army during the Korean Conflict. Boyd was honorably discharged in 1954, and went back to work for American Iron and attended Oklahoma City University. Boyd retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1989 after twenty-four years.

In 1964 Boyd and Cordelia moved to their forever home on a small farm in Wanette. Over the next 54 years they worked together, loved together, and raised three children: Le Gay, Kelvin and Kevin. They built the small farm into “home” for their children and grandchildren.

Boyd had many hobbies and interests. He loved to fish with his children and grandchildren. He was also an avid coon hunter and fur trapper. He enjoyed raising cattle. Boyd loved attending auctions and scrapping metal. The love and passion for his hobbies and interests could not match his love for his family. Boyd will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandpa and pepaw to his family, and as a man of honesty and integrity to anyone who knew him.
