Voneta Lou (Gillock) Sales, 85, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Friday, May 21, 2021 in Shawnee.
She was born on October 1, 1935 in Allen, Oklahoma to Ralph and Minnie Lee (Barnes) Gillock.
Voneta was raised in Oklahoma City and attended Northeast High School.
She married Charles Sales on October 4, 1952 in Oklahoma City. In 1956 they moved to the Shawnee area where they made their home and raised a family.
Voneta was a full-time homemaker for nineteen years. In 1972 she began working for Shawnee Milling Company, where she held several positions until retiring in 2000 after 28 years of service.
She was a devout Christian woman and loved the Lord. Voneta was a dedicated member of Living Love Christian Center in Shawnee. She knew her Bible cover to cover and taught Sunday school for 60 years.
Voneta enjoyed reading her Bible, loved animals, flowers, singing hymns and being in the country. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jared Sales; parents, Ralph and Minnie Lee Gillock; 3 sisters, Vermell Reddick, June Willmon and twin sister, Doneta Haven; and 1 brother, R.E. Gillock.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of over 68 years, Charles Sales of the home; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Steve Conrad of Shawnee, OK; 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Chuck and Stephanie Sales of Choctaw, OK and Curtis and Lynda Sales of Oklahoma City, OK; 2 grandchildren, Jason and Justin Sales; 1 brother, Terry Gillock; and many loving friends and extended family.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 26, 2021 and continue until 12:00 noon, Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the funeral home. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Living Love Christian Center in Shawnee with Pastor Mark Guinn officiating. Burial will follow at Wanette Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
