Wanda Marie Roberson, 88, of Asher, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2019 in Shawnee.
She was born November 24, 1930 to Ivan and Lena (Compton) Rush in Trousdale, Oklahoma.
Wanda was raised in Trousdale and Wanette. She graduated from Wanette High School. Wanda moved from Wanette in 1975 to Little City, Oklahoma near Lake Texoma where she lived for 20 years until moving back to Asher in 1995 where she has lived since.
She married J.P. Roberson on April 23, 1951 in Wanette, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on September 17, 2008.
Wanda along with her husband owned and operated Roberson Grocery in Little City, Oklahoma for 20 years, retiring in the 1990’s.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Asher and was baptized in 2003. Wanda loved cooking for her family, having company, playing card games, especially skipbo, crocheting, quilting and doing seek and find books.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.P. Roberson; granddaughter, Teresa Williams; her parents, Ivan and Lena Rush; 3 brothers, Raymond Rush, Rex Rush and Ralph Rush; and 2 sisters, Wilda Bailey and Winnie Fohrenkanm.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Jerry Milburn of Asher, OK; son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Janie Roberson of Oklahoma City, OK; grandson, Scott Roberson of Oklahoma City, OK; great-granddaughter, Renee and Brandon Lairson of Lexington, OK; sister-in-law, Helen Rush of CA; special family, Ben, Callie and Donovan Middleton, Julia, Melissa and Lloyd Thompson of Oklahoma City, OK; nephew, Ronnie and Hedda Roberson of Crowley, TX; and other extended family and friends.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 21, 2019 and continue through service time. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 22, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Asher. Burial will follow at Wanette Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
