J.P. Roberson was born March 10, 1927 in Eason, Oklahoma to P.H. & Isabell (Lynn) Roberson and passed from this life September 17, 2008 in Asher, Oklahoma after having attained the age of 81 years.
Born in Eason (west of Wanette), he was raised in Asher, and attended Asher schools. On April 23, 1951 he married Wanda Marie Rush in Wanette. Following their marriage, he and his wife lived in Wanette where they raised their family. They also lived at Lake Texoma in Little City, OK from 1974 until moving back to Asher in 1995 when he retired.
He served with the Army Air Corps in the Philippines during the latter part of WWII.
He began working in the oil field, working with heavy equipment and doing dozer work. While in Wanette he worked as a barber, as well as while he was living in Madill. While living in Little City, he owned & operated Roberson Grocery. J.P. was a Mason with Wanette Lodge and a member of Madill VFW. He enjoyed fishing & hunting, especially in Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter: Teresa Williams; and a brother: H.C. Roberson.
SURVIVORS INCLUDE: Wife: Wanda Roberson of the home Daughter & Son-in-Law: Patsy & Jerry Milburn of Asher Son & Daughter-in-Law: Ricky & Janie Roberson of Okla. City 2 Sisters: Lucille Spriggs of Van Buren, Arkansas and Audrey Goodnight of Tecumseh.Grandson: Scott Roberson of Okla. City Great-Granddaughter: Rene Williams of Norman Nephew & Spouse: Ronny & Heda Roberson of Crowly, TX And many friends.
