RUTH FARLEY

January 3, 1940 - August 13, 2017

Julia Ruth Cozette Farley age 77 of Wanette, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017 at the Norman HealthPlex. Ruth was born January 3, 1940 in Tribbey, Oklahoma. She was the youngest of seven children born to William Arthur Wood and Emma Elizabeth (Hulse) Wood. Ruth grew up a country girl and graduated from Wanette High School in 1958. That same year on Sept 14, 1958 in Durant, Oklahoma, she married the love of her life, Charles Ernest Farley. Together Ruth and Charles raised four children Jorene, Charles, Diane and Timothy and they remained living in the Wanette area all of their lives. Ruth worked for nearly 15 years as an accountant at Central State Hospital Annex in Lexington and later at the Lexington Prison. She then worked 20 years as a Health Care Provider in the Home Health Business. Ruth was a caring and compassionate person who loved people and loved the Lord. For over 60 years she was a faithful Christian and an active member of the Wanette First Baptist Church. She played the piano and organ, taught Sunday school, taught Act Teens, and GA’s. She also taught Vacation Bible School and helped out in many other areas within the church. While her children were growing up, she was a 4-H and Brownie leader and active member in the OHCE, “Oklahoma Home, Community and Education Program. While Charles enjoyed gardening, Ruth enjoyed cooking and canning the garden vegetables. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting and oil painting. After the grandchildren and great grandchildren started being born, she and Charles became full-time babysitters. They both thouroughly enjoyed spending time with them and spoiling them before sending them home. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She was preceded in death by: Parents, William and Emma Wood, Husband, Charles Farley in 2013, Two sons, Timmy Farley in 1998, and Charles Eugene Farley in 2009; Six brothers and sisters, Gene, Billy, Kenneth, Sylvia, Nita and Wilma.

She is survived by: Two daughters, Jorene Myers of Wanette, Diane McMillan and husband Jim of Lexington. 13 grandchildren, Darla Myers, Brenda Brasher and husband Brandon, Heather Farley, Julia Farley, Patty Farley, Char-Lea Enoch and husband Kenneth, Tessa Myers, Natalie McMillan, Emma McMillan, James McMillan, David Easton, Roger Easton and Daniel Easton; 22 great grandchildren, and many other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 2:00p.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Wanette First Baptist Church in Wanette, OK.

Interment will be at the Wanette Cemetery.
