Doyle Dean Sexton, 82, of Asher, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 in Norman, Oklahoma.
He was born in Konawa, Oklahoma to Tom and Maud Sexton on September 13, 1936. The youngest of 12 children; they saved the best for last.
Doyle married Margie Helen Jackson on July 18, 1959. They made their home in Asher, Oklahoma and raised 4 children.
Doyle made a living working 30 plus years at Tinker AFB and working the farm. He also drove the school bus and worked around the Asher Senior Center delivering meals.
Doyle served his country for 4 years in the U.S. Air Force and then 3 years with the National Guard.
Doyle was a member of the First Baptist Church of Asher.
Doyle is survived by his wife, Margie Sexton of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Teresa Sexton of Asher; daughter, Terry Sexton of Earlsboro; son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Sandy Sexton of Coalgate; daughter and son-in-law, Tricia and Blaine Lindell of Broken Arrow; 7 grandchildren, grandsons: Brandon Sexton and wife Kara, Conner Lindell; granddaughters: Cassie Cole and husband Jake, Tayler and Jessie Sexton, and Riley and Mackensie Lindell; 9 great-grandchildren, Abbi, Erick and Easton Cole, Jaylee, Mattie, Brandt, Bowi, Roper and Bentlee Sexton; one brother, J.T. Sexton; 2 sisters, Jean Akerman and Amaline Sanders; and many nephews and nieces; and other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents, Tom and Maud Sexton; brothers, Howard and Frank Sexton; sisters, Iva Branscum, Pearl Campbell, Juanita Thomas, Jewel Campbell, Lorene and Lavonia Sexton.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Norman Veterans Center, P.O. Box 1668, Norman, OK 73070. Please make checks payable to Norman Veterans Center, memo: Benefit Fund.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 13, 2019 and from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 14, 2019. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Asher with Reverend Dwayne Johnson and Chaplain Miles Knutson, Valir Hospice officiating. Burial will follow at Vista Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
