Wilma Cunningham, 95, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2019 in Shawnee.
She was born May 10, 1924 to George and Susan (Giddens) Thompson in Tribbey, Oklahoma.
Wilma was raised in Tribbey and graduated from Tribbey High School. She has lived most of her life in Pottawatomie County having lived in Edmond a short time before returning to the Shawnee area.
She married James R. Cunningham in Edmond, Oklahoma in 1989 and he preceded her in death in 1999.
Wilma was a dedicated homemaker and excellent seamstress. She enjoyed cooking, painting,sculpting, and was an avid reader.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Susan Thompson; first husband, John Edward Jones; her daughter, Jennifer Gardner; second husband, James ???Jim??? R. Cunningham; 5 brothers, baby boy Thompson, Kermit, Clyde, John and Doyle Thompson; 2 sisters, Ruby Thompson and Beatrice Judy.
Survivors include her 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Keith and Kathy Jones of Cave Creek, AZ and Alan and Mary Jones of Tecumseh, OK; 7 grandchildren, Christopher Jones, Kevin Jones, Kyle Jones, Amanda Gardner Walker, Jason Gardner, Jennifer Davis and Jeremy Mobley; 6 great-grandchildren, Tia, Torie, Gavinn Jones, Charity Walker, Baylie Gardner and Colton Mobley; and other extended family and friends.
Memorial Service will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 3, 2019 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Darrell Witten, Heartland Hospice of Shawnee officiating. Burial will follow at Tribbey Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
