Mrs. Anita “Louise” Tate, age 82, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022. She was born on September 27, 1939 in Ada, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Tate was a resident of DeFuniak Springs, Florida after moving from Tecumseh, Oklahoma where she was a longtime resident. She was Baptist by faith. She grew up and graduated High School in Stonewall, Oklahoma. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked as a hospital representative for insurance, Medicare and welfare at Shawnee Medical Center Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma for over thirty years before retiring. She enjoyed going to the race track and playing slot machines at the casino.
Mrs. Tate was an avid Oklahoma sports fan. She loved Oklahoma State Cowboys and Oklahoma City Thunder.
Mrs. Tate was preceded in death by her mother, Marie Lois Robbins Stone and stepfather Floyd Franklin Stone; her father Franklin Leroy Strickland and stepmother Bertha Strickland; one son, Victor Dean Tate; two brothers, Franklin Leroy Strickland, Jr. and James Albert Strickland; and her sister-in-law Betty Strickland.
Mrs. Tate is survived by her children, Sherri Tate Willis and husband Victor Lee Buck and Cash Tate; her brother, Dennis Floyd Stone and wife Elizabeth A. Stone; sister-in-law, Mary Roebuck; five grandchildren, Meghan Marie Willis, Garrett Victor Willis, Ivvy Renee Tate, Preston Hopson and Angelica Marie Morgan; and two great-grandchildren, Urijah Morgan and Sarena Buss.
Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 11, 2022 at Tecumseh Cemetery; 18800 Gordon Cooper Drive, Tecumseh, Oklahoma 74873 with Reverend Clint Dawkins, Sharon Baptist Church officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh. Flowers will be accepted.
