Jimmie Everett Stockton, age 94 of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Sunday, March 3, 2024.
He was born December 25, 1929 in Konawa, Oklahoma to Everett Shearl and Effie Zenoma Stockton.
Jimmie was born and raised in the Konawa area.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
Jimmie married Mary Laverne (Willis) Stockton on June 20, 1980 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
He worked at Tinker Air Force Base as a foreman in B-52 avionics and retired after 26 years. After retirement, he worked as a driver for South Central Industries. He was a longtime member of Northeast Freewill Baptist Church, in Shawnee. He loved traveling, woodworking, gardening, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary L. Stockton, two sons, David "Nicky" Stockton and Mike Stockton; four sons-in-law, George Teafatiller, Dennis Bullock, Danny Gordon, and Charles Rowe; granddaughter, Alysia Rowe; great-grandson, Michael Tobias Bell; his brother, Doug; and his sister, Clastine.
Those left to cherish his memory are; six daughters and one son-in-law, Marsha Bullock of Shawnee, OK, Marilyn Gordon of Shawnee, OK, Mary Jean Rowe of McLoud, OK, Monica Yoder of Earlsboro, OK, Nancy Teafatiller and Roy Garoutte of Tecumseh, OK and Debbie Haley of Tecumseh, OK; ten grandchildren, Mandi Wells, Miranda and Tim Outon, Chance and Tori Yoder, Lucas and Valerie Bullock, Darcie Gordon, Tiffany Rowe, Derek Rowe, Amy and Kevin Tackett, Leo Teafatiller and Lisa Fennell, and Amber Teafatiller; fifteen great-grandchildren, Mylee Wells and Ben Silva, Hadley Outon, Caleb Outon, Madison Yoder, Royce Bullock, Mackinzie Yoder, Dalton Yoder, Braden Tackett, Noah Tackett, Caitlan Tackett, Zachary Tackett, C.J. Cooke, Sophia Rowe, Maddox Rowe and Christian Rowe; two great-great grandsons, David Perez, and Owen Tackett; niece, JoElla Harrison; nephew, Ronnie Stockton; and numerous extended family and friends.
Service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Northeast Free Will Baptist Church in Shawnee with Reverend Quinton Kay officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
