Doyle Wayne Roller, Sr

Doyle Wayne Roller, Sr., 84, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed from this life Saturday, December 10, 2022 at his residence in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.

He was born March 8, 1938 in Wilzetta, Oklahoma. He was raised by his grandparents Charlie and Maggie Tower.

He attended Prague Public Schools and graduated from Prague High School in 1956.

While cruising Main Street in Shawnee Doyle met his future wife Winnogene Doss while she and her sister were window shopping. He said when their eyes locked he knew he was hooked. Doyle and Winnogene were married on December 22, 1956 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After marriage they began their family in Shawnee, later moving to Macomb and settling in Tecumseh, where he has lived since. Winnogene preceded him in death on May 11, 2005.

When he was a boy he begin his career working at his grandad’s gas station in Prague and also was a paperboy throwing newspapers in Del City. Doyle later worked for the State of Oklahoma surveying I-40 going east and for Vandeveer Oil Company. Doyle owned and operated his first station on Beard and Highland in Shawnee. Along with his brother-in-law he owned and operated Roller Doss 66 Truck Stop at I-40, Prague/Seminole Exit. He later owned and operated Roller Tire Service in Tecumseh, Roller Trucking and Roller Dirt Farm and Mini Storage. He retired in 2015.

Doyle was active in Tecumseh FFA and the Tecumseh Booster Club. In his younger years he enjoyed farming, cattle and horses. He was passionate about his family and enjoyed gardening, square dancing and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Winnogene Roller; grandparents, Charlie and Maggie Tower; 2 grandsons, Holden and Taylor Sanders; and sister, Loydell Dart.

Those left to cherish his memory are 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Doyle Roller Jr. and wife Rita of Tecumseh and Delbert Roller and wife Alecia of Tecumseh; 2 daughters and 1 son-in-law, Patti VanDyke and husband Rex of Tecumseh and Tami Roller of Tecumseh; 10 grandchildren, Criss Rath and husband Bryan, Justin Roller, Kayla Dandy and husband Jeff, Jon Roller, Britton Roller and wife Megan, Kody VanDyke, Leah Sanders, Logan Sanders and wife Jessica, Chance Carner and wife Jessica and Mason Carner; 22 great-grandchildren, Amanda Webb and husband Austin, Harley Qualls and husband TJ, Braxton Rath,Gunner Head, Daisey Roller, Zoie Roller, Kloie Roller, Kaylie Roller, Wyatte Roller, Blake Dandy, Bryson VanDyke, Hudson Roller, Lillie Farrell, Ryder VanDyke, Jacklyn O’Neal, Carter Roller, April Farrell, Hagen Sanders, Elijah Chance, Lillian Carner, Colt Sanders and Vivianne Carner; 1 great-great grandson, Kaeden Padilla; 1 sister, Kaye Floyd of Madison, AL; and other loving extended family and a host of friends.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 15, 2022 and continue through service time. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2022 at Sharon Baptist Church with Reverend Clint Dawkins, Sharon Baptist Church and Danny Wells, Strafford Church of Christ Elder, officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
