Toney Lee Prewett, 82 years of age, passed away on Thursday, March 7th, 2024 at home in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
He was the husband of Deloris Prewett. They shared 65 years of marriage together.
Toney was born January 7, 1942, in Hickory, Oklahoma. He was the son of John and Clorine Prewett.
Toney was an auto mechanic and the owner of Prewett's Auto Shop in Tecumseh, Oklahoma, it was in operation for 30 years. During this time he also drove a school bus for Tecumseh schools, in the mornings and afternoons. Then later Toney was in the dump truck business.
His Hobbies ranged from water skiing, boating, camping, cb radio and spending time with family and friends.
Toney was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church.
He will be remembered for his love of people and never meeting a stranger, on top of the love he had for his loving wife and family.
Toney is preceded in death by his parents, John and Clorine Prewett; brother, William Prewett; and 2 great-granddaughters, Kinzie and Leora Notah.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Deloris Prewett; sons, Dennis Prewett and wife Trina Prewett; Ted and wife Angel Prewett; daughter, Kim and husband Billy Atterberry; sisters, Barbarann Wood and Cheryl Buoy; brother, David Prewett; 17 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 11, 2024 at Cooper Funeral Home and continue through service time. Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Earnie Deeds and Pastor Anthony LaGrange officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
