Betty Lou (Sparks) Napier

Betty Lou Napier, 90, of Shawnee, OK passed away on October 13, 2023 at home after a short illness in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Betty was born December 20, 1932 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, a daughter of John and Georgia Norton Sparks. She married the love of her life, Eldon "Dick" Napier, on December 11, 1953 in Macomb, OK. Betty was raised Southern Baptist.

Betty held several jobs through the years. She worked at Girls' Town in Tecumseh, Cooks in Shawnee, and helped run the Napier Insurance Agency for 37 years. They sold the agency in 2006. Betty was a voracious reader and loved to crochet.

She is preceded in death by her husband; one son, Kent Napier; one great-granddaughter, Joella Grace Napier; her parents; and two siblings, Jane Nelson, and John Sparks.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Althea Napier of Shawnee; daughter, LaDona Jill Napier of Tecumseh, OK; her great-niece, Tara Dawn and Eric Swalla of Tecumseh; four grandchildren, Garrett and Rebecka Napier of Seminole, OK, Cody and Deb Napier of Prague, OK, Josh and Carina Napier of Shawnee, OK, and Amanda Grizzle of Mcloud, OK; eight great-grandchildren, Jurnee Ketcher, Wes and Raychel Napier, Brandon Napier, Aidan Napier, Kayla Napier, Audri Napier, Josiah Napier, and Travis Napier; one great-great-granddaughter, Swayde Napier; one sister, Lorna Gutierrez of Las Vegas, NV; and many nephews, and nieces and friends.

Betty requested instead of flowers her suggested memorial donations be made to Rock Creek Baptist Church Youth Ministry; 44900 Hardesty Road; Shawnee, OK; 74801.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 20, 2023. Family Gathering to greet friends and family will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 20, 2023 at Cooper Funeral Home. Casket will remain open until service time. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 21, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Tecumseh, Oklahoma with Reverend Tony Peak officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh. The services will conclude at the Church.
