Anna Lee “Annie” (James) Motley, 94, peacefully joined Jesus on January 18. 2018. Annie was born on April 12, 1923 to Burton and Stella (Presley) James.
Annie was raised in Maud area and attended Pleasant Valley Schools.
On December 23, 1950, she married the love of her life, Halvin C. "Dick" Motley. Annie had several jobs but particularly enjoyed working at C.R. Kress.
She loved family, cooking, gardening and crafts. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and could be found at the First Baptist Church in Tecumseh on Sundays.
Although she had no children of her own, she formed a special bond with a girl she babysat from birth, Krystina. Annie became a grandma through love. She was the best grandma anyone could ask for- from baking cookies and playing school to attending recitals and graduations. She will be greatly missed.
She leaves behind her best friend and husband of 67 years, Halvin C. "Dick" Motley. She leaved many nieces, nephews and friends. She will now rejoin her parents, two sisters and two brothers waiting for her in heaven, along with many loved ones she’s lost through the years.
A special thanks to Heartland Hospice staff.
Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Tecumseh Cemetery with Reverend Tony Peak, Tecumseh First Baptist Church officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
