Carolyn “Sue” Holt was born to Everett E. and Opal (Montgomery) Licklider on August 16, 1941. She entered Heaven whole and healed on March 6, 2020 having reached the age of 78 years.
Sue was raised on a farm near Prague, Oklahoma. She attended grade school at Garden Grove and graduated from Earlsboro High School in 1959.
Sue married Jack Holt and together they raised four children.
Sue began her business career at the Morris Plan in 1962 and worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for various businesses in Shawnee while also raising four children and having her own bookkeeping business in her home. In 1975 she went to work as an administrative assistant for the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce. She later became President of the Chamber of Commerce working there for a total of 19 years. Sue began working at Shawnee Regional hospital in 1994 as the Director of Development retiring in 2007.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Holt; her parents; and her in-laws.
Those left to carry on her legacy of community service and Christian love include children and their spouses; Gayla and Mike Higgins, Tim and Kim Holt, Kelli and Brad Cox and Kristi and Jeff Peters; grandchildren, Jill and Destry Newman, Dusty Higgins, Jacklyn and Butch Cantrell, Evan and Brittni Bordeaux, Darylen Bordeaux, Kylie Peters, Tyler Peters, Justin Holt, and Brandon Holt; great-grandchildren, Tanner and Lauren Newman, Ali and Jarad Maxwell, Destynee Newman, Ella Cantrell, Emersyn Cantrell, Brooks Cantrell and Eastyn Cantrell, Hartlee Bordeaux and Eva Bordeaux; step-grandchildren, Justin Cox, Libby Cox, Brittany Cox, Amia Cox, Alauna Cox; and Tinsleigh Cox; She is also survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Ida Licklider and James and Cindy Licklider; and one sister and brother-in-law, Janelle and Jim Hamilton; and other loving extended family and friends.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, March 8, 2020 and continue through service time. Family gathering to greet friends and family will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Cooper Funeral Home. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2020 at Tecumseh Pentecostal Church of God with Tanner Newman and Destry Newman officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
