Gary A. Fry, 76, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022 in Shawnee.
He was born June 6, 1945 to James Roy and Beulah Rosetta (Gosnell) Fry in Asher, Oklahoma.
Gary was raised in Asher and graduated with the class of 1963 from Asher High School.
He married Stella “Kay” Sadler on July 29, 1982 at Blackburn Chapel in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Gary proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. Upon his return from serving his country he attended East Central University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Business.
He began his career at Arco in 1975 which became Citgo and later retired from Explorer Pipeline in 2011.
His passion was cutting horses and going to his grandchildren’s ballgames.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Scotlynn Shirey; parents, Roy and Beulah Fry; and brother, Ronny Fry.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kay Fry of the home; 2 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Taryn and Marty Shirey of Dale and Tonya and Dale Landreth of Bethel Acres; 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Greg and Candy Fry of Asher and Steven and LaDawna Fry of Konawa; 9 grandchildren, Haylee, Connor, Kenlee, Ashley, Ike, Dylan, Karleigh, Justyce and Eliah; 1 great-grandson, Gentry Postoak; and other extended family and friends.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 23, 2022 and continue through service time. Graveside Service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 24, 2022 at Tecumseh Cemetery with Pastor Dan Megehee, Cross Cut Cowboy Church officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
