Helen Flick, 94, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018 in Tecumseh surrounded by her family. She was born July 28, 1923 to Solomon and Goldie (Ricketts) Postlewait in Jenks, Oklahoma.
Helen was raised in Ohio then St. Louis, Oklahoma.
She married William “Bill” Flick on March 28, 1940 in St. Louis, Oklahoma and they began their family in St. Louis. They moved to Tecumseh in 1942 where she has since lived. On September 1, 1992 Bill preceded her in death.
Helen was a charter member of the First Assembly of God in Tecumseh and was unbreakable in her faith in God. She enjoyed fishing, but only with her husband Bill, was a great cook, enjoyed sewing and was known for her whistling and humming. Her grandchildren were the focal point of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Solomon and Goldie Postlewait; husband, William “Bill” Flick; 6 sisters, Alice, Evelyn, Vera, Virginia, Wanda and Barbara; 3 brothers, Alex, Billy and Granvil; 1 grandson, Rondy Flick; great-grandson, Preston “Bubba” Standley; and 1 great-great granddaughter, Lyndsey Kabalan.
Those left to cherish her memory are 2 daughters and 1 son-in-law, Patsy and Don Youker, Muldrow, OK and Janice Flick of Tecumseh, OK; 2 sons and 1 daughter-in-law, Billy Ray and Betty Flick of Tecumseh, OK and Larry Flick of Shawnee, OK; 7 grandchildren, Connie and Jimmy Rodgers, Deanna Cox, Shelly and Vern Hanna, Robert Youker, Tracy Rath, Terry Flick and Shane Countess; 16 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; 2 brothers and 1 sister-in-law, Floyd and Sylvia Postlewait of Moore, OK and Ronnie and Claudia Postlewait of Shepherdsville, KY; 1 sister and 1 brother-in-law, Betty and Archie White of Louisville, KY; 2 sisters-in-law, Dean Watson of Tecumseh, OK and Margie Postlewait of Illinois; and many loving friends and extended family.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 26, 2018 and continue through service time. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 27, 2018 at First Assembly of God in Tecumseh with Pastor Don Jonker of First Assembly of God and Reverend Ray Wade of Trinity Chapel, Harrah, OK officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
