Bobby Joe Cofer, 75, former Tecumseh, Oklahoma resident passed away Monday, July 19, 2021 at his home in Perkins, Oklahoma.
He was born June 28, 1946 to Bobby W. and Geneva M. (Foster) Cofer in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Bobby was raised in the Pauls Valley and Stratford, Oklahoma area. He grew up helping his father on the family farm and attended Pauls Valley Public Schools. Bobby lived in Tecumseh for the last 46 plus years until recently moving to Perkins.
He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp Reserves.
Bobby married Nancy Wilson on December 27, 1974 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma at the Tecumseh Assembly of God.
He worked for General Telephone Company, COJAC and retired from contracting as a government postal contractor.
Bobby enjoyed golf, bowling, fishing, college sports, trivia, watching old westerns, and most of all supporting his kids and grandkids in their sports and activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby W. and Geneva Cofer.
Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 46 ½ years, Nancy Cofer of the home; 2 daughters and 1 son-in-law, Sherry Cagle of Oklahoma City, OK and Jennifer and Marny Moody of Perkins, OK; 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Randy and Zita Cofer of Newcastle, OK and Bradley and Emilee Cofer of Piedmont, OK; 9 grandchildren, Kaydence Moody, Jentri Moody, Mikayla Moody, Anderson Cofer, Harrison Cofer, Chad Willis-Cofer and spouse Ashley, Haley Cofer, Jessica Cofer and Randi Cofer; 2 sisters and 2 brothers-in-law, Sue and Johnny McWhirter of Lexington, OK and Melanie and Paul Hodge of Eufaula, OK; and many loving friends and extended family.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 21, 2021 and continue through service time. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jerry Kuhn officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
