Mary Luanne Bowen, age 77, of Tecumseh, OK passed away Friday, May7, 2021 in Oklahoma City. She was born December 9, 1943 in Howell, MI to Glenn and Ilene T. (Welton) Swegles. Mary was raised in Michigan, moved to Shawnee in 1980, and has lived in Tecumseh since 1985. She graduated high school in Lansing, Michigan.
Mary married Ray Bowen on September 28, 1985 in Shawnee, OK.
She worked many different places in her life and was a hard worker. Mary was the custodian for Tecumseh Middle School for 8 years until her retirement. Mary enjoyed playing Rummy and loved to cook for her family. She enjoyed the small things in life. Mary loved nothing better than spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also loved her 2 cats and her dog.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; son, James Bowen, daughter, Donna Ramsey, son, Terry Bowen, great granddaughter, Alexis Morris; brother, Sammy Morley; and son in law, Roger Ash.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ray of the home; daughters, Darla Ash of the home, Pearl Tuell and Gary of Euless, TX, Diana Buttram and Larry of Tecumseh, and Lisa Bowen of Shawnee; sons, Darold Madden and K.J. of Konawa and Randy Bowen and Lisa of Shawnee; 19 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brother, Robert (Bob) Swegles and Mary of TN; sister, Hazel Spencer of Shawnee; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Cooper Funeral Home and continue through service time. Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
