Chasity (Belshe) Batterton, 38, lifelong resident of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed from this life Thursday, March 1, 2018 in Shawnee.
She was born August 8, 1979 to Theodore Lee Belshe, III and Cynthia Diana (Melot) Belshe in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Chasity was raised in Tecumseh and attended Tecumseh Public Schools. She was a 1997 graduate of Tecumseh High School. After high school she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and her Master’s degree in Health Administration from the University of Oklahoma.
She married Micheal Batterton on August 21, 2004 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on October 3, 2010.
Chasity worked in health care and most recently in business management.
She loved animals and helping people, was an avid reader, and enjoyed dancing, cooking, crafts, coloring and being near the water. Chasity’s sister, Dallas and brother, Ted considered her as their best friend. Chasity and Micheal together enjoyed being active in their children’s activities and spending time with family; her children were the focal point of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Micheal Batterton; and her grandparents, Letha and Ted Belshe and Dolores Melot.
Those left to cherish her memory are her 3 children, Keren Batterton, Linsey Batterton and Ryan Batterton, all of Tecumseh, OK; parents, Ted and Cindy Belshe of Tecumseh, OK; 1 sister, Dallas Belshe of Tecumseh, OK; 1 brother, Ted Belshe, IV, J. Natalie Belshe of Tecumseh, OK; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Walter and Brenda Batterton; grandfather, Glenn Melot of Tecumseh, OK; 2 nephews, Ted Belshe V and Asher Belshe; 1 niece, Olivia Belshe Seals; and many loving friends and family.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, March 4, 2018 and continue until service time. Casket will remain closed after service. Family gathering to greet friends and family will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Cooper Funeral Home. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2018 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jerry Kuhn, Capitol Hill Full Gospel Church, Moore, OK officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
