Norma Jean Koomsa, 67, of Macomb, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020 in Oklahoma City. She was born December 30, 1952 to Bobby Gene and Nora Lillian (Antaubo) Ross in Lawton, Oklahoma. Norma was raised in Mountain View, Oklahoma, Lawton, and El Paso, Texas and lived most of her life in Apache and Romulus, Oklahoma. She attended elementary school in Mountain View, middle school in Lawton and high school in El Paso, Texas. She attended Cameron College in Lawton.

Norma married Gregory Pitchford in 1969 in Oklahoma. She was a proud member and Elder of the Kiowa Tribe. She was a member of Rainy Mountain Indian Baptist Mission and Romulus Baptist Church. Norma retired from Wrangler in Seminole as a seamstress. She worked as a teacher’s assistant at Apache Elementary and held various public relations jobs, including Citizen Potawatomi Nation Tribal store and customer service.

She focused on family, was a social butterfly and had a multitude of friends all over Oklahoma. Norma loved to smile and enjoyed visiting and helping people. She loved to attend and hosting family reunions from Henry Autaubo descendants. Her great joy was her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleatus Monroe Koomsa, parents, Bobby and Nora Ross; grandson, Shane Clifford; her grandparents; and many loved ones, aunts and uncles.

Survivors left to cherish her memory are her husband, Gregory Pitchford, Sr. of the home; 4 sons and 2 daughers-in-law, Paul Pitchford of Oklahoma City, OK, Robert Joseph and Lori Pitchford of Tecumseh, OK, Greg Jr. and Tonya Pitchford of Macomb, OK and Donald Gene Ross of the home; 2 daughters, Jamie Marie Pitchford of Shawnee, OK and LaNora Denise Koomsa of Tecumseh, OK; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Dr. Lola Sue and Eddie Davis of Edmond, OK; 1 niece, Shannon Lea Davis of Edmond, OK; 1 nephew, Trenton Ross Davis and Lauren of Edmond, OK; 1 great-nephew, Keegan Davis of Edmond, OK; and numerous other beloved aunts, uncles, cousins; and a host of friends.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 7, 2020 and continue through service time. Graveside Service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Romulus Cemetery with Reverend Gerald Haumpo officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
