Born in Duluth, MN, Beverly lived a life filled with love, faith, and dedication. She was the beloved wife of William A. Wood for 66 years until his passing. Together, they raised five children: Sandra Fulkerson, Deborah Hammerstrom, Patricia Luoma, Joyce Frye, and the late William Jr., Jane, and Janet Wood. Beverly is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren, along with six brothers and two sisters.
Beverly's early education ended after the 8th grade, after which she worked on her family's farm. It was there she met William, and they married at 19, starting a family and a life together. A devoted mother and homemaker, Beverly was known for her warm hospitality and signature fresh cakes for company.
Beverly, a woman of deep faith, found joy in her relationship with the Lord and her church community. She was active in church life, teaching Sunday school and sharing her love for reading, singing, and speaking about her faith. Her compassion and kindness were evident in every aspect of her life, touching the hearts of all who knew her.
Beverly cherished her family and friends, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A visitation for Beverly will be held Friday, August 9, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home, 44909 Highway 3, Shawnee, OK 74801. A funeral service will occur Friday, August 9, 2024 at 2:00 PM, 44909 Highway 3, Shawnee, OK 74801. A committal service will occur Friday, August 9, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery, 16006 S Rock Creek Rd, Shawnee, OK 74801.
