Martha Adele Webb, resident of Shawnee, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024. She was 96 years old. Adele was born on February 16, 1928, in Augusta, Ga., to George and Ollie (Agerton) Merritt. On June 12, 1943, Adele married Cye B. Webb in North Augusta, S.C.
Adele was a homemaker raising her children. She later sold Avon for many years and worked to earn her real estate license. She sold real estate with Bob Crothers for over 20 years, retiring in 1995. Adele was also a Sunday school teacher and sang in the church choir for many years. Most recently, she had been attending Liberty Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cye B. Webb, son, Leonard Steven Webb, sister, Georgia Ann Allen, parents, George and Ollie Merritt, granddaughter, Melissa Schweizerhof, great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Staats, and great-great-granddaughter, Miriam Varner.
Those left to mourn her passing are her daughters, Linda Wing and husband Doug, Donna Dirickson and husband Bob Sullivan, grandchildren, Trey Dirickson and wife Merrilee, Kelley Winsett and husband Luke, John Schweizerhof, Geri Lynn Staats and husband Kris, and Todd Wing, 16 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Walker Funeral & Cremation Service on Monday, December 9 from 12 - 5 p.m. and on Tuesday, December 10 from 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. with family present to greet friends from 5 - 7 p.m.
A funeral ceremony for Adele will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Walker Funeral Chapel with Phil Thompson officiating. Following the ceremony, Adele will be laid to rest next to her husband at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee, Okla. Casketbearers will be: Chris Staats, Urijah Staats, Doug Wing, and Bob Sullivan.
