Margaret Sarah Jane Nora Parker Thomas died on January 27, 2015, at her residence in Shawnee.
Services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 3, at First Christian Church, 1625 N. Broadway in Shawnee with Pastor Ray Belford officiating.
Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.
The family will meet with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 2, at Walker Funeral Service, 201 E. 45th Street in Shawnee.
Margaret was born January 9, 1923, in Chicago to Alexander and Oline Parker.
She married H. L. "Casey" Thomas on November 2, 1942. They moved to Shawnee in 1948.
She spent her career as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
She enjoyed yard work, crocheting, traveling, and spending summers in upstate New York.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Casey; two brothers, Al and James Parker; and two sisters, Mary Ellen Riley and Nora Stokes.
She is survived by her son, Jim of Newalla; two sisters, Jane Simpson and Eleanor Grant, both of Utica, New York; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Angelic Hospice and to the staff at Sterling House for the kindness shown to Margaret over the last five years.
Walker Funeral Service of Shawnee is in charge of arrangements.
