Tommy Oneal May of Bethel Acres passed away Thursday, August 8th, 2024. Tom was born November 15th, 1946 to James Owens May and Myrtle Lorene (Medcalf) May in Oklahoma City, OK. The family lived in Dale, OK. Before graduating Dale High School in 1965, Tom met Betty Jilge from McLoud, OK. They would later marry on May 16th, 1966. Tom enlisted in the U.S Air Force on June 7th, 1966. After being honorably discharged, they owned and ran May's Grocery for 13 years, raising their 3 children in Bethel Acres. Tom was a generous person, caring for his neighbors, friends, and family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. May, parents and two brothers: James, Jr. and Bobby May.
He is survived by his brother Danny and wife Nancy May; Daughter: Tammy and her husband Benny Ratterree; Son: Richard May; Daughter: Tabatha and her husband Ed Meyer; Grandson: Aaron and his wife Amanda Ratterree; Grandson: Josh and wife Shelby Meyer; Granddaughter: Brittney and husband David Bounds; Great-Grandsons: Behr, Boyd, Broc Bounds; and Great-Granddaughter Brooklynn Ratterree.
Graveside service will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee on Monday, August 19th, 2024 at 10am.
