Helen Mae (Talley) Knox went to be with our Heavenly Father March 17, 2020 as she succumbed to debilitating illnesses. She was born in Geary, Blaine County, OK on Nov 4, 1920 and almost lived to be 100 years old.
Helen left the Geary area as a young woman and moved to Okla. City, OK where she met and married Ralph Wilson Knox. To this union were born 2 children, Cheryl Darlene and Dale Edwin Knox. Helen and Ralph divorced Aug 26, 1954 and she never remarried.
Helen went to business school in Okla. City and worked at Dulaney’s electronic appliance distributor. Later she became the first Executive Assistant Secretary at General Motors Training Center where she worked 31 years until retirement.
Helen was predeceased by her parents: John Franklin and Lula Faye Talley, her younger brother John Floyd Talley, her younger sister Ellen Faye Kunzman, and her son Dale Knox.
Helen is survived by: her younger brother, George Talley and wife Leotta, her daughter Cheryl Laakman and husband Hank, grandson Aaron Mitchell and wife Kristin, grandson Dr. Brad Mitchell and wife Kara, and grandson Steve Knox. Grandma Helen’s great-grandchildren that she adored are Avery, Jake, Luke, Graham & Reece Mitchell. She also has 9 nieces and nephews that she loved very much. Grandma Helen was loved dearly by her family and will be greatly missed.
Due to the strict limitation of group gathering size because of the Coronavirus outbreak, a very small service for immediate family only will be held at Buchanan Funeral Service and she will be buried in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
